For me, it would be easier for referrals to be in a format similar to certificates/prescriptions/exam orders, since I often refer professionals out of the box. In addition, patients sometimes prefer to have the document in physical form and not just by mail (I serve an older adult population that does not always deal well with technology) Then that the referral reaches the patient in PDF format, just like a certificate, and eventually, if you want to send it to someone in particular, you can also add your email address, and that you also have the option to download that referral to print it.
